Phrasal Verb

जब verbs के पश्चात् विभिन्न Prepositions या Adverbial Particles लगा दिए जाते हैं , तब उनका अर्थ बदल जाता है।ऐसे verbs को Phrasal Verbs कहते हैं। 

1. Call in - 

 Meaning (अर्थ) - send for (बुलाना)    

 Use in Sentence (वाक्य प्रयोग) - Call in a doctor at once. 

2. Get off - 

 Meaning (अर्थ) - to escape (भागना)   

 Use in Sentence (वाक्य प्रयोग) - The thieves entered the house and got off with the stolen goods.

3. Hold on - 

 Meaning (अर्थ) - continue (न छोड़ना)    

 Use in Sentence (वाक्य प्रयोग) - In my opinion he should not hold on to his share in the ancestral property.

4. Make out - 

 Meaning (अर्थ) - understand (समझना)    

 Use in Sentence (वाक्य प्रयोग) - He could not make out the meaning of the poem.

5. Take over - 

 Meaning (अर्थ) - snatch (लेना)  

 Use in Sentence (वाक्य प्रयोग) - He is not willing to take over your business.
