Phrasal Verb

जब verbs के पश्चात् विभिन्न Prepositions या Adverbial Particles लगा दिए जाते हैं , तब उनका अर्थ बदल जाता है।ऐसे verbs को Phrasal Verbs कहते हैं। 

1. Act for - 

 Meaning (अर्थ) - किसी के स्थान पर कार्य करना    

 Use in Sentence (वाक्य प्रयोग) - The Vice-President of India acted for the President of India for some days. 

2. Bring down - 

 Meaning (अर्थ) - गिराना   

 Use in Sentence (वाक्य प्रयोग) - The storm brought down a number of trees.

3. Go by - 

 Meaning (अर्थ) - गुज़रना, व्यतीत होना    

 Use in Sentence (वाक्य प्रयोग) - As time goes by, facial beauty fades away.

4. Hold up - 

 Meaning (अर्थ) - देर हो जाना    

 Use in Sentence (वाक्य प्रयोग) - The train was held up on account of derailment.

5. To carry out - 

 Meaning (अर्थ) - आज्ञा मानना  

 Use in Sentence (वाक्य प्रयोग) - We should carry out the orders of our parents.
