Phrasal Verb

जब verbs के पश्चात् विभिन्न Prepositions या Adverbial Particles लगा दिए जाते हैं , तब उनका अर्थ बदल जाता है।ऐसे verbs को Phrasal Verbs कहते हैं। 

1. Bear down - 

 Meaning (अर्थ) - कुचलना   

 Use in Sentence (वाक्य प्रयोग) - The general bore down his opposition in no time. 

2. Call upon - 

 Meaning (अर्थ) - कहा जाना, निवेदन करना   

 Use in Sentence (वाक्य प्रयोग) - You will be called upon in the court to give evidence.

3. Ill at ease - 

 Meaning (अर्थ) - बेचैन    

 Use in Sentence (वाक्य प्रयोग) - At the time of checking on the airport the smuggler was ill at ease.

4. Take down - 

 Meaning (अर्थ) - लिखना   

 Use in Sentence (वाक्य प्रयोग) - He cannot come out as he is busy taking down class notes.

5. Put on - 

 Meaning (अर्थ) - पहनना  

 Use in Sentence (वाक्य प्रयोग) - He has put on his new clothes to attend the marriage ceremony.
