Phrasal Verb
जब verbs के पश्चात् विभिन्न Prepositions या Adverbial Particles लगा दिए जाते हैं , तब उनका अर्थ बदल जाता है।ऐसे verbs को Phrasal Verbs कहते हैं।
1. Call at -
Meaning (अर्थ) - मिलने के लिए आना
Use in Sentence (वाक्य प्रयोग) - He called at my house last evening unexpectedly.
2. Go off -
Meaning (अर्थ) - छूटना या चलना
Use in Sentence (वाक्य प्रयोग) - The gun went off and the old man was injured.
3. Keep up -
Meaning (अर्थ) - बनाए रखना
Use in Sentence (वाक्य प्रयोग) - He should try to keep up the reputation of his firm.
4. Lay off -
Meaning (अर्थ) - निलम्बित करना
Use in Sentence (वाक्य प्रयोग) - The manager had to lay off the clerk for his misbehaviour.
5. Work up -
Meaning (अर्थ) - धीरे - धीरे बनाना
Use in Sentence (वाक्य प्रयोग) - He has worked up a business for his children.
